President Donald Trump’s crypto czar David Sacks said NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani’s statement against billionaires should serve as a wake-up call to Silicon Valley as Mamdani said he doesn’t think there should be billionaires. Speaking on NBC’s Meet the Press Sunday Mamdani explained that billionaires have so much money that it increases the inequality. “I don’t think that we should have billionaires because, frankly, it is so much money in a moment of such inequality,” he replied. “Ultimately, what we need more of is equality across our city and across our state and across our country.”The comment came at a light-hearted moment as the host asked Mamdani whether he thinks billionaires have a right to exist but Mamdani’s straight reply has sent an alarm to entrepreneurs, though his election campaign too had the same promises to tax the rich. He proposed an additional 2 per cent tax on those whose annual income is more than $1 million. In the interview, Mamdani said he looks forward to work with everyone including billionaires to make the city fair for all of them.David Sacks called Mamdani the “future of the Democrat Party” as former president Bill Clinton too congratulated Mamdani on his victory. “Wake up, Silicon Valley. This is the future of the Democrat Party. Communism has defeated liberalism. Even Bill Clinton has bent the knee. You basically have two choices now: Get on board with MAGA or prepare to be on Mamdani’s dinner menu,” David Sacks said.
New York has 123 billionaires, highest for any city
Popular YouTuber-entrepreneur Patriuck Bet-David commented on Mamdani’s apathy towards billionaires and said that New York has 123 billionaires — the highest for any city — with a combined net worth of $759 billion. “He wants to be the Mayor of the city with the most billionaires (123)? Yet, he believes they shouldn’t exist? Second exodus in the last 5 years coming soon,” David wrote in his post on X.
