The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq opened at fresh record highs on Thursday after a stronger-than-expected jobs report pointed to resilience in the labor market amid concerns about U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff policies.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 81.3 points, or 0.18%, at the open to 44565.75. The S&P 500 rose 19.0 points, or 0.31%, at the open to 6246.46, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 104.5 points, or 0.51%, to 20497.663 at the opening bell.
