NEW DELHI: Defence minister Rajnath Singh Thursday held talks with his Chinese counterpart Admiral Dong Jun amid the ongoing move to rebuild and stabilise bilateral ties, even though de-escalation between the rival armies is yet to take place along the LAC.The two met on the sidelines of SCO defence ministers’ meet. However, there was no official word from India on the meeting till late in the night. During their last meeting during an Asean conclave in Vientiane in Nov, which came soon after the troop disengagement in Depsang and Demchok in eastern Ladakh, Singh had told his Chinese counterpart that it was now crucial to move forward to the next step of de-escalation to build trust and confidence between the two countries.
