Pocket FM appoints Akansha Kumari as Head of Product

Pocket FM has announced the appointment of Akansha Kumari as Head of Product, as the audio series platform continues to focus on building a scalable and user-focused entertainment experience for global audiences.

Akansha joined Pocket FM as AVP – Product, initially concentrating on enhancing long-term user retention through loyalty programs and subscriptions. Within six months, her responsibilities expanded to include oversight of the platform’s overall revenue and business model, covering advertising, in-app purchases, and subscriptions. During this period, the company introduced new monetisation strategies designed to align with its broader goal of making audio storytelling widely accessible and engaging.

In her new role, Akansha will lead the platform’s product strategy and execution. She will oversee the user journey from onboarding and content discovery to engagement and monetisation, while also focusing on innovation, operational efficiency, and international growth.

Commenting on the development, Akansha Kumari said: “Stepping into this role is both a privilege and a responsibility. Our ambition is bold: to make storytelling as immersive, accessible, and addictive as any form of visual entertainment. I look forward to leading this charge by combining user empathy with sharp execution, and building experiences that are not just scalable, but truly unforgettable.”

Akansha will report to Prateek Dixit, Co-founder of Pocket FM.

He said, “Akansha brings a rare blend of product intuition, business acumen, and customer empathy. Over the past year, she has consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of what it takes to build for scale without compromising on user experience. As we expand Pocket FM’s global footprint, her leadership will be key to crafting a product that resonates with audiences across geographies, cultures, and use cases.”
