Echo Villa, a recently completed private residence in Taipei, Taiwan, exemplifies a harmonious fusion of architecture and interior design that draws direct inspiration from its mountainous surroundings. Designed by Peny Hsieh Interiors, the 990-square-meter space employs fluid, organic forms — which are seen in custom curved furniture, partitions, and ceiling transitions — to mirror the natural contours of the landscape.
Peny Hsieh Interiors relied on a material palette for EchoVilla that reinforced the connection with nature. The mineral-toned plaster walls and natural teak flooring contribute depth and warmth, while a restrained color scheme and handcrafted details cultivate a tranquil ambiance. Lighting is strategically integrated to enhance the spatial experience, with diffused natural light and indirect artificial illumination highlighting textures and transitions. The residence also features carefully selected artworks by renowned designers and artists, each chosen to complement the overarching theme of bringing the external environment indoors.
