A team of designers, comprised of Jaeyeon Lee, Sumin Park, Yejun Jo, and Jimin Ha worked together to design Moopi. Moopi is a range of chairs which are made to capture the energy of one’s childhood. These chairs are integrated into adult spaces with a playful angle.
Every piece nods to a playground and it sparks notions of imagination and joy. The designers worked to create a connection between the past and the present. Instead of creating traditional chairs, the forms are each referencing playground equipment. This means that the postures and feelings of sitting or sliding through tunnels, and more, are reflected. For example, MOOPI 01 in blue is made in the same form as playground tunnels.
