Enhanced Premium Console Cases : joy lock

Dbrand identified a manufacturing tolerance issue in its Killswitch case for the Nintendo Switch 2 that, under specific one-handed use conditions, could weaken the magnetic connection between the console and Joy-Con controllers, leading to unexpected detachment. In response, the company committed to replacing the original Joy-Con grips for all customers at no cost, acknowledging that it could not reliably distinguish affected units from unaffected ones in its initial production run.

To resolve the detachment risk entirely, Dbrand developed an all-new grip design, dubbed “Joy-Lock,” which eliminates the problematic tolerance and secures the Joy-Cons under any handling scenario. Shipments of these Joy-Lock grips—alongside silicone friction pads to improve one-handed undocking of the Dock Adapter—are being produced at a scale of approximately 500,000 sets each, with customer fulfillment slated to begin in early August 2025.
