Benchmark NSE Nifty closed 122.3 points up at 25090.7 amid buying in frontline bluechip counters.
However, stocks such as Shriram EPC(PP), Smartworks Coworking, Reliance Comm, SKIL Infrastructure and LCC Infotech, touched their fresh 52-week lows.
Overall, 31 shares ended in the green in Nifty50 index, while 19 closed in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, Eternal, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, HDFC Life and M&M were among top gainers during the day, while RIL, Wipro, IndusInd Bank, Eicher Motors and HCL Tech ended in the red.
The BSE Sensex closed 442.61 points up at 82200.34. Traders piled up positions in IT Enabled Services, General, Tourism & Hospitality, Apparels and Logistics sectors, while selling was witnessed in Auto Ancillaries, IT – Hardware, Diversified, Miscellaneous and Leather sectors during the day.
