Rewind 9-Volt Battery Chips have been launched in the Netherlands as an unexpected kind of snack product that mimics the experience of touching a 9-volt battery in taste form.
The snack is seasoned with citric acid, sodium bicarbonate and mineral salts, which combine to mimic the metallic tang and light buzz that would come with touching a 9-volt battery. This taste experience is meant to evoke a sense of nostalgia amongst Millennial snackers and is entirely food-safe. While the snack is meant to replicate the experience of licking a 9-volt battery, the brand advises against attempts to actually do so in favor of safer snack chip alternative.
Rewind 9-Volt Battery Chips are priced at €1.89 per bag and are launching alongside more traditional flavors including Cheese & Onion, BBQ & Honey, Creamy Paprika and Tangy Sriracha.
